UFC 81 Shaping Up Nicely

In addition to the featured bouts of Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs Tim Sylvia for the interim UFC Heavyweight Title and Brock Lesnar vs Frank Mir, a number of matches are set at the 185-pound division.In main card action, Ricardo ‘Cachorrao’ Almeida will battle rising star Alan ‘The Talent’ Belcher. This is Almeida’s first UFC fight since 2002 and his first fight anywhere since 2004. He has a number of notable wins on his resume, including victories over Nate Marquardt, Ryo Chonan, and Kazuo Misaka. He will return to active competition against a tough competitor in Belcher, who is coming off back to back wins over Sean Salmon and Kalib Starnes.
Also on the televised segment a bout between Marquardt and Thales Leites. Marquardt is looking to climb back up the ladder after losing to Anderson Silva last July. Leites has won three out of four UFC fights and hopes to use ‘Nate The Great’ as a stepping stone.
Marvin Eastman is going to drop down to the middleweight division for a fight against Terry Martin. This looks to be a slugfest as both fighters like to bang.
Additionally, a lightweight bout is set between Tyson Griffin and Gleison Tibau for the main card and the undercard sees a light heavyweight match between Tomasz Drwal and David Heat and a lightweight contest between Keita Nakamura and Rob Emerson.
